Présentation

The Veloscenie is a cycling route of more than 450 km connecting Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel. In order to ensure accurate monitoring of attendance and to measure the impact of this structural axis on soft mobility, the Veloscenics Committee requires partner communities to set up counting points at certain strategic locations. The city of Chartres, which hosts one of these counting points on its territory, had to meet this obligation and have a reliable tool to collect and transmit this data. The choice of an autonomous, discreet and easy to use meter was quickly necessary to ensure regular monitoring without heavy technical constraints.

Prestation kiomda

To meet this requirement, Kiomda provided an automatic and connected counting solution, allowing for the continuous collection of data on cyclist crossings.

Essential Counting to Meet Véloscénie Committee Requirements

The Véloscénie is a renowned cycling route connecting Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel. Along this route, certain mandatory counting points are required. One of these points is located in Chartres, where a Kiomda counting device has been installed to comply with these regulatory requirements and provide accurate cyclist attendance data.

This tool allows the city to document local traffic and contribute to reports submitted to the Véloscénie committee, even though the figures are not directly used by elected officials or municipal teams.

"The Véloscénie committee requires attendance counts at specific points, including one here in Chartres."

Easy Access to Data for Compliance Tracking

The collected data is primarily used to meet the legal counting obligations imposed by the committee.

Mr. Lambert, responsible for tracking, occasionally reviews the figures through the Kiomda Reports interface, which allows for .csv data exports for submission.

"I check the numbers through Reports, though not frequently. The last time I did was in December, about four months ago."

A Reliable and Scalable Tool for Monitoring Cycling Routes

With the help of the Kiomda counter, Chartres effectively meets the Véloscénie’s monitoring requirements while benefiting from a flexible solution that can adapt to the city’s future tracking needs.
