Présentation

The Grésivaudan intermunicipal area has 100,000 residents and manages a range of aquatic facilities, including 7 pools. Many of these pools are over 70 years old and currently undergoing renovation. However, they still lack automated entry control systems, making manual visitor counting impractical.,The French regulation require pools to track real-time attendance levels based on capacity limits. In the absence of a fixed entry system, the Kiomda solution provides a temporary but effective alternative.

Prestation kiomda

Kiomda provided and maintains five pedestrian counting devices, deployed across the summer pools of Allevard, Saint Martin d’Uriage, Prapoutel, and Saint Vincent de Mercuze. The devices collect bidirectional visitor data, recorded every 15 minutes and uploaded to the Reports Kiomda platform.

Satisfaction

A Reliable Monitoring System for Regulatory Compliance

The Kiomda devices enable real-time attendance tracking, supporting compliance and improving facility management.

"The Communauté de Communes manages four summer pools. These are older facilities that we have taken over and are currently renovating."
"The old pools did not meet FMI requirements, which mandate real-time tracking of bathers in aquatic facilities. Each pool must adhere to strict capacity rules to regulate entry. Eventually, we plan to install turnstiles, but that will take another three to four years. Until then, we rely on these counters, which provide a good estimate, even if they are not 100% precise."

Data-Driven Decision Making for Pool Management

The collected data is used by multiple stakeholders to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

"Pool operators check daily attendance trends and use the counters to verify access control. The community’s pool manager tracks usage statistics, and the state authorities review the data in case of accidents or safety checks."

An Effective Solution with Minor Limitations

The Kiomda counters offer significant benefits for regulatory compliance, remote monitoring, and access control.

"These counters bring us three main benefits: they help us comply with regulations, analyze attendance remotely, and better manage access."

A slight margin of error is noted due to lack of fixed entry points, but this does not impact overall compliance.

"I’d rate the solution an 8 out of 10. We are completely satisfied. The system works well, even if the absence of a fixed entrance means there is a small margin of error. But it still allows us to meet regulations effectively."
